What we walked into
A 1,200 square foot driveway in Culver City running up between two houses. Plain grey concrete, sound underneath but flat and lifeless against the house.
What the client needed
Colour that read as part of the property rather than a slab someone poured and forgot.
What we did
We cleaned and opened the surface so the stain could penetrate instead of sitting on it, then worked the colour in and sealed it. Stain goes into concrete, which is why it does not peel the way a painted driveway does.
What made it difficult
An exterior job has always depending on the weather. We got lucky on this one, no rain, no high wind.
The result
A warm reddish brown driveway with the movement you only get when colour goes into the slab.
