What we walked into
Sixteen hundred square feet of stamped concrete driveway in Valley Village. The stamp pattern was intact but the colour had washed out, which is what happens to stamped work once the original release colour goes.
What the client needed
The pattern brought back to life without tearing out perfectly good stamped concrete.
What we did
Stamped concrete takes stain differently to a flat pour, because the low points of the pattern hold more colour than the raised faces. We worked with that instead of against it, so the texture reads deeper rather than flat, then sealed it.
What made it difficult
It took several coats using a premium color stain to achieve that tone and a premium sealer was use to give the extra protection for this floor.
The result
The stamp pattern reads again, with the colour sitting deeper in the joints the way it should. Three days on a driveway that would have cost several times more to replace.
