What we walked into
Nine hundred square feet of office floor in Carson under old adhesive. Not a skim of it either, but heavy yellowed mastic across most of the slab where whatever was down had been stuck rather than laid.
What the client needed
The floor finished in four days, with the space handed over behind us.
What we did
Adhesive that old comes off slowly and loads up diamonds while it does. We ground it out in passes rather than trying to take it in one, then filled and levelled what was underneath before polishing.
What made it difficult
Removing the exiting VCT tile and the heavy mastic glue is one of our specialty. Using the grinding process with PCD tools makes the job fast and precise for a polish finish.
The result
A grey polished floor with none of the adhesive left in it. Four days, and no new material over the top.
