What we walked into

A raw slab in a space that was well past the shell stage. Glass partitions were in, walls were painted, and the mission graphics were already mounted. The concrete itself was patchy and discoloured, with the marks left behind by the build-out still on it.

What we did

Ground the slab back and took it up through the grits to a reflective finish. Every machine ran on dust extraction, because the space around the floor was already finished and could not be exposed to silica dust.

What made it difficult

Working clean was the constraint, not the concrete. Glass, paint and installed graphics meant containment mattered as much as the grinding, and the floor had to be brought to a consistent finish right up to glazing channels and column bases without touching anything above them.

The result

A continuous polished floor running under the glass partitions and out into the warehouse area, bright enough to carry the ceiling line across the full length of the space.
