What we walked into
A wide open warehouse under a timber roof with continuous LED strips running the length of it. The slab was raw and marked from the fit-out, with the perimeter walls freshly finished and the space due to open as a showroom.
What we did
Ran several grinders side by side rather than one machine back and forth, each on its own dust extractor, then took the whole floor up through the grits together so the finish stayed even across the full width.
What made it difficult
A showroom floor gets judged the way a product does. The LED strips overhead run in continuous lines, which means any dip or inconsistency in the polish shows up as a kink in the reflection – so the flatness mattered as much as the gloss.
The result
A floor that carries the ceiling strips in unbroken lines down its full length. The furniture went in on top of it without anything else being laid.
