What we walked into

A newly fitted-out warehouse shell with fresh white walls and a flat grey slab that had never been finished. Clean to start with, but 35,000 square feet of it, broken up by structural columns and a mezzanine at one end.

What we did

Ground and polished the slab in long runs across the open span, working around the columns and cutting in at the dock doors and wall lines. Dust extraction ran on every machine to keep the new walls and fit-out clean.

What made it difficult

Scale is its own problem. On a floor this size, consistency is the whole job – the finish has to match from one end to the other with no visible seam where one day of work meets the next, and the saw-cut control joints have to be respected rather than polished across.

The result

A single reflective floor across the full 35,000 sqft, with the ceiling lights carrying in long rows down the length of the building and the control joints reading as clean lines rather than defects.
