What we walked into
A twenty-five hundred square foot ballroom in Redondo Beach with columns through the space and floor drains set into the slab. The concrete came up rough off the grinder, with the swirl pattern you get when a floor has never been finished properly.
What the client needed
A metallic epoxy floor in three colours blended on site, in a room that has to look right under event lighting.
What we did
We sheeted the room off floor to ceiling and ground the slab flat. The three colours were blended on site and laid wet, worked into each other so the movement reads as one surface rather than three. Sealed from there.
What made it difficult
Metallic epoxy blended wet gives you one attempt. We’ve applied different technics to blend the colors and make a warm and vibrant enviroment.
The result
A seamless warm gold metallic floor that moves under the lights.
