What we walked into
A small office with a block wall down one side, a slab cracked in a long run across the middle, and a restroom off it still carrying a black and white checkerboard vinyl tile floor that had been there a long time.
What we did
Lifted the vinyl, chased and filled the cracking, ground both rooms, and poured a silver metallic through the office and the restroom so the two read as one space.
What made it difficult
The restroom. A small room with a toilet in it, a door swing and three walls close together is harder to pour than ten times the area in an open office, because there is nowhere to stand and no room to work a wet edge.
The result
A silver metallic floor in both rooms, with the crack repaired and no longer telegraphing through. The restroom matches the office rather than looking like the room that got left out.
