What we walked into
An operating bakery layout with the servery counter, display cases and glazed shopfront all in place, and the old floor being broken out around them in sections.
What we did
Brought in a ride-on stripper to take the covering and adhesive off quickly, then ground and polished the slab underneath. A ride-on machine clears in hours what hand scrapers take days to do.
What made it difficult
Working around a fixed servery means the floor cannot be attacked in one straight run. The machine has to be walked around the counter line, and the finish still has to match where the passes meet on the far side.
The result
A light polished floor with the aggregate showing through, running clean up to the counter base and out to the glazed shopfront.
